Early-onset type 1 diabetes and the young adult brain

A voxel-based morphometry study of brain structure after type 1 diabetes that began in childhood.

System outline
  1. 01Childhood onset
  2. 02Young adult brain
  3. 03Voxel-based morphometry

The idea

Type 1 diabetes that starts early is a metabolic history the brain carries into adulthood. This abstract reports a voxel-based morphometry comparison of that history in young adults.

The approach

Structural MRI is compared with voxel-based morphometry. The group of interest is young adults whose diabetes began early, studied with the clinical collaborators who ran the diabetes cohort.
