GraphicConverter 12
The Mac app that opens the file the others will not, then converts, browses, and edits it.

GraphicConverter is the program you open when the file is not a JPEG. Lemkesoft has spent decades on the unglamorous job of reading other people’s formats, including the ones the rest of the industry dropped. Conversion is the point, and batch conversion is how you do it to a folder instead of one heroic file at a time.
It is also a browser and an editor. The window Lemkesoft publishes is the whole job in one place: a folder of photographs, a histogram, the EXIF, and a map of where the frame was taken. You sort, rename, rotate, and convert without keeping a second cataloguing app open. The menus run from image to effect to filter to view, which is a lot of tool for a program people still think of as a translator.
Version 12 is the current line. The release notes on their site list 12.5.4 as of 26 August 2026. They call it a universal tool for photo editing on the Mac, and the old nickname still fits: the Swiss army knife. You do not keep it because it is pretty. You keep it because the weird file opened.
